Plumbing shop transformed into trendy office space
Montante Construction worked hand-in-hand with Arbeit Software to transform a former plumbing shop into a two-story office space over the course of four months. This project included new private offices, multiple open workspace areas, a play area, a meeting room, a new kitchenette and break area, new restrooms and additional workspace area on the second floor.
Project Overview
One of the most important aspects of this project for the client was that they wanted unique and transparent soundproof offices. Because of this request, this office renovation used a variety of unique finish materials, like cork or OSB walls and vibrant paint colors, which proved to be challenging in their own ways.
Choosing the vibrant paint colors meant that it took five to six coats to cover properly; meaning more time and more materials. OSB is not typically used as a finish material due to its rough, raw nature, which meant all surfaces and edges needed to be sanded and corner conditions needed to be treated creatively. Beyond the non-standard finishes and colors, another major challenge of this project was keeping the unique design costs aligned with the client’s overall budget. Montante Construction was present throughout the entire design phase to work with the architect and the client to ensure a budget friendly, but high-design project.

After extensive renovations by Montante Construction, Arbeit’s US team moved in March of 2019. Their new office space was designed to be collaborative for the respective teams working in the office, as well as reflective of Arbeit’s distinct brand.
