Amazon Last Mile Distribution Facility
Located on 25 acres at Riverview Solar Technology Park
Montante Construction acted as the construction manager for Amazon’s state of the art distribution and warehouse facility. The facility was built around 25 acres of existing wetlands, making it the largest facility at the park.
Project Overview
The Amazon team, the Town of Tonawanda, BL Architecture, and Montante Construction worked collaboratively to deliver this project through design, site plan approvals, permitting, and construction. The facility was designed for 250+ car parking spaces, 250+ oversized van parking spaces, large driveways, and parking for tractor trailer deliveries, six queuing lanes for van loading, and an emergency vehicle by‐pass lane. One of the largest challenges Montante Construction had to solve was figuring out a way to lay out all of the site components around the existing wetlands on the property while providing additional areas for stormwater management. Other challenges included an extremely tight construction timeline, including doing most of the sitework, steel and precast throughout the winter months.
Montante Construction also included a roof-top solar array to offset the facility’s power usage.
